Michael is a Richmond, Virginia native. He attended the University of Virginia for his undergraduate studies where he received his bachelor of arts, majoring in history and political science with a minor in leadership studies through the McIntire School of Commerce. He was also the vice-president of the Virginia Chapter of the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity.
After graduation, Michael worked in Washington, D.C. for the District of Columbia Bar Association in their continuing legal education department. Michael then returned to Richmond to work for an international transportation and logistics company.
In August of 2019, Michael moved to Morgantown, West Virginia to attend West Virginia University College of Law. In 2020, Michael was admitted to the John Chambers College of Business and Economics for their Masters of Business Administration program. In 2021, Michael was one of ten students selected to participate in the West Virginia University United States Supreme Court Clinic where he assisted in drafting appellate briefs submitted to the United State Supreme Court and prepared oral arguments on issues of first impression for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. In 2022, Michael graduated from West Virginia University with both degrees, completing both programs in only three years.
After being admitted to the Virginia State Bar, Michael began working at the Virginia Attorney General’s office in the Financial Recovery Section where he represented the Commonwealth in debt recovery actions all across the state. During his two years at the Attorney General’s office Michael was the sole attorney in over 40 trials and recovered over $2.51 million for the taxpayers of Virginia. Michael attended the National Association of Attorneys General Advanced Trial Skills program and received commendations for his work with expert witnesses.
Michael joined Harman Claytor as an associate in 2025 in their general liability practice group where he uses his trial advocacy skills to secure the best possible outcome for clients. Michael strives to be a resource and support for clients throughout the entire litigation process.
In his free time Michael loves to cook and specializes in utilizing traditional ingredients in unique ways. He also loves to read and write narrative fiction and is a member of James River Writers, a Richmond-based writing community. Finally, above all else, Michael loves to spend time with his family and two dogs.
