Attorney Spotlight – Brennan McGovern
Harman Claytor Corrigan & Wellman’s Attorney Spotlight for September is Brennan J. McGovern. Brennan has been at Harman Claytor for three years and focuses his practice on auto liability defense, commercial and business litigation, construction law, and premises liability matters.
1. Where are you from originally? — Pittsburgh, PA.
2. Did you have any other profession before becoming an attorney? — I majored in journalism and worked as a news producer for local television stations prior to law school.
3. What advice would you give your younger self? — Whatever moment or period of your life that you’re in, take the time to enjoy it, because you don’t get the time back.
4. Do you have any pets? — We have a six-year-old rescue dog who still has all of the energy of a puppy.
5. If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be? — There are a lot of travel destinations to check off the bucket list, but Japan is probably at the top for me.
6. What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on and why? — I spent two weeks in Europe after taking the Virginia Bar Exam in 2022. It was much needed relaxation traveling through the Netherlands, Belgium, and France.
7. Do you have a favorite quote or favorite line from a movie? — “Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.” – The Big Lebowski
8. What TV show/movie are you ashamed to admit you love? — Not ashamed to admit I love watching Jeopardy! but I definitely get a little too competitive playing along.
9. What do you enjoy doing outside of work? — Spending time with my fiancé Aliyah, cooking, reading, golf, going to concerts, or doing anything outdoors.
10. What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery? — A beach house.
