Attorney Spotlight – John Dunnigan

Harman Claytor Corrigan & Wellman’s Attorney Spotlight for January is John P. Dunnigan. John is in his seventh year of practice and has been at Harman Claytor for almost six years. His practice focuses on products liability, transportation, construction, and general liability matters.

1. Where are you from originally? — Newport News, Virginia.
2. What advice would you give your younger self? — Keep working hard, but slow down and enjoy life a bit more. Be more present.
3. What has been your most meaningful accomplishment so far? — Being a husband and a father.
4. You’re happiest when… — I’m sitting on the beach under an umbrella listening to music.
5. What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on and why? — Turks & Caicos. The food and beaches are incredible. Plus, they don’t have that many sharks, so it made the trip more relaxing.
6. Do you have a favorite quote or favorite line from a movie? — “That’s as good as money, sir. Those are I.O.U.’s. Go ahead and add it up, every cent’s accounted for.” – Lloyd Christmas from Dumb and Dumber
7. Describe an interesting hobby or pastime that you have. — My wife and I have attended probably 80+ VCU Rams basketball games. We have slowed down over the years, but they are a fun time.
8. What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn? — I would love to be good at the drums. It’s not pretty.
