Attorney Spotlight – Lynne Jones Blain
Harman Claytor Corrigan & Wellman’s Attorney Spotlight for December is Lynne Jones Blain. Lynne has been at Harman Claytor for 25 years focusing mainly on civil litigation with an emphasis on complicated medical cases. She has been practicing law for almost 40 years total.
1.Where are you from originally? — I am originally from Richmond, but my dad was with IBM so we moved four times between Kindergarten and college. We lived in Alexandria, Virginia; Medfield, Massachusetts; Toledo, Ohio; and Cincinnati, Ohio.
2. How would your best friend describe you in three words? — Lively, loyal, funny.
3. What is at the top of your bucket list? — Spending a month traveling through Europe.
4. What’s something surprising/fun that not many people know about you? — I interviewed Curt Gowdy when I was in junior high school.
5. When have you felt the proudest and why? — Watching my three sons and their partners create happy, successful lives.
6. What is the most important thing you have learned in the last five years? — That everything you think does not need to be expressed out loud.
7. You’re happiest when… — I’m at the beach reading a book, family and friends close at hand.
8. What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on? — There are two – the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002 and a cycling trip through the Piemonte region of Italy.
9. If you could attend any concert, who would it be? — James Taylor, for close to the 30th time.
10. What do you enjoy doing outside of work? — Skiing, reading, watching sports.
11. Do you have any creative outlets or interests? — I like to knit and garden.
12. What’s a cause that you are passionate about? — Friends of Barnabas. A wonderful organization providing medical care in the remote villages of Honduras.
13. What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery? — A house on a beach.
