Congratulations to Stan Wellman

“The Board of Directors of the VADA is honored to announce Stan Wellman of Harman Claytor Corrigan & Wellman as this year’s recipient of VADA’s Award for Excellence in Civil Litigation! A graduate of West Virginia University and the University of Richmond School of Law, Stan has distinguished himself over his nearly 40 years in practice as one of Virginia’s premier civil litigators. Held in the highest regard for his expertise and his professionalism, Stan is a Fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation, a member of Virginia’s Boyd-Graves Conference, and a 2025 inductee into Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s Lawyers Hall of Fame. Among his many other accolades, Stan has been a mainstay among Virginia’s Legal Elite, a Virginia Super Lawyer, and consistently listed among the Best Lawyers in America. In addition, Stan is a leader in his profession and his community. He is a Past President of the Henrico County Bar Association, the Immediate Past President of the Harmonie Group, and a member of the 2011 class of Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s Leaders in the Law. Stan further served with distinction as President of our Association from 2008-09, was a member for many years of our Board of Directors, and is one of the most popular and sought after speakers at VADA seminars and events. A proud husband, father, and grandfather, Stan is always generous with his time and his talents, mentoring and guiding countless young attorneys over the course of their careers. As those who know him readily attest, Stan epitomizes the ideals upon which this Award is based.
