Harman Claytor Corrigan & Wellman’s Staff Spotlight for August is Gary Richardson. Gary has been an administrative assistant for 20 years, 12 of which have been at Harman Claytor.

1. Where are you from originally? — Brooklyn, New York.

2. If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be? — Tahiti and Australia.

3. What is your definition of success? — Being happy. Success doesn’t necessarily mean having money. I will settle for just being happy.

4. What advice would you give your younger self? — Follow your dreams!

5. Years down the road, how would you like to be remembered? — For my love for my kids and grandkids.

6. What’s something surprising/fun that not many people know about you? — That I love playing chess. It relaxes me.

7. Describe an experience that has had a lasting impact on you. — Having to make the decision to remove my mother off the ventilation machine. I never want to experience that again.

8. What is the most important thing you have learned in the last five years? — After the Covid pandemic and seeing two of my friends pass away from the virus, I have learned that tomorrow is not promised to anyone. All you have is today.

9. You’re happiest when… — I’m playing chess or basketball and being around my family.

10. Do you have a motto or personal mantra? — Agree to disagree. (Now I’m sounding like a lawyer.)

11. What is your biggest pet peeve? — I’m a tidy person. I hate seeing things messy! It drives me nuts.

12. What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on and why? — Africa. It was the greatest experience in my life.

13. Do you have a favorite quote or favorite line from a movie? — My favorite movie is The Godfather. “Never tell anyone outside the family what you are thinking.”

14. If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would play you? – Samuel L. Jackson.

15. If you could attend any concert, who would it be? — Prince.

16. What TV show/movie are you ashamed to admit you love? — I love watching 60 Minutes.

17. Do you have any creative outlets or interests? — I love to barbecue, with charcoal of course. I don’t like gas grills. Having a gas grill is like taking your kitchen outside.

18. What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn? — I’ve always wanted to cliff dive.

19. What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery? — That’s easy…buy a new car.
