1. Where are you from originally? — My father was a career Naval officer after flying A4s and A6s, so I grew up in Virginia Beach, VA, Alameda, CA, Yokosuka, Japan, San Diego, CA, and Springfield, VA.
2. What is at the top of your bucket list? — This year I want to go deep sea fishing off the Florida Keys. Mike Harman told me about a great place there!
3. What advice would you give your younger self? — Spend more time with Dad and don’t sell the 1967 Duetto.
4. What’s something surprising/fun that not many people know about you? — I can drive a manual transmission fast. My father loved vintage sports cars, so I spent a lot of time handing him tools and driving pretty awesome cars.
5. You’re happiest when… — My family is happy. My husband is an attorney and we have two boys. Our oldest son just graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. Our youngest son is in high school and just made Eagle Scout.
6. Do you have a motto or personal mantra? — Be the change you want to see in the world.
7. Do you have any pets? — We have a 16-pound cat who is like a living teddy bear. Our neighbors adore him so much they call themselves his Fan Club. When we go out of town there is a fight over who gets to come over and feed him.
8. If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be? — My husband and I are dual Irish citizens and we really need to take our boys back there to meet their younger Irish cousins!
9. Do you have a favorite quote or favorite line from a movie? — Michael Keaton in Mr. Mom: “220, 221, whatever it takes.”
10. If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would play you? — My husband thinks Naomi Watts (and I love that he sees me that way, but I think he needs glasses!)
11. If you could attend any concert, who would it be? — I would have liked to have seen Prince and Aretha Franklin live.
12. What TV show/movie are you ashamed to admit you love? — Shows about moving to Alaska or fixing up homes in Ireland.
13. What do you enjoy doing outside of work? — I love my family and I am outnumbered by guys (even the cat is a boy), but I sincerely love fishing (can even bait my own hook), kayaking, sailing, shooting skeet, going to concerts, baseball games, UVA football games, VIR races, and renovating our 1905 home.
14. What would your perfect weekend look like? — Spending time with family and friends, hanging out on the water with my boys, drinking dark & stormies, dancing badly with my college friends, and eating hamburgers or picking crabs.
