2. Did you have any other profession before becoming attorney? — I worked delivering ice at Six Flags Over Texas in high school and college.

3. What is at the top of your bucket list? — That’s a tough one.  Visiting Australia.  Driving a fast car on the Nürburgring in Germany.

4. What is your definition of success? — Balancing work life and family life.  That is still a work in progress.

5. What advice would you give your younger self? — Don’t forget to slow down and enjoy yourself from time to time.

6. What’s something surprising/fun that not many people know about you? — I had a pilot’s license as a teenager.  I completed my first solo flight on my 16th birthday in a Cessna 150.

7. When have you felt the proudest and why? — Watching my three children excel in school and extracurricular activities.

8. Describe an experience that has had a lasting impact on you. — As a very young attorney, I was defending a small, run-of-the mill car accident case. My client was a recent immigrant to the US of very modest means.  I’ll never forget how proud he was that I was his attorney.  After the case was resolved, he brought me an American flag pin as a gift.  I’ve kept the pin in my office to remind me that every case is important to your client.

9. What has been your most meaningful accomplishment so far? — Raising 3 children and being happily married for over 22 years.

10. You’re happiest when… — Mountain biking, hiking, just being outside.

11. Do you have any pets? — We have a Havanese, which is my first small dog, but she has a big dog’s personality. We also have two rescue cats.

12. What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on and why? — Our family had a great vacation in Costa Rica last summer.  We hiked in the rain forests, zip-lined, went whitewater rafting, and saw monkeys, pit vipers, lizards, toucans, macaws, etc.

13. What do you enjoy doing outside of work? — Mountain biking, hiking, camping.
