Attorney Spotlight – Lisa Kent Duley

Harman Claytor Corrigan & Wellman’s Attorney Spotlight for November is Lisa Kent Duley. Lisa has been practicing law for 32 years and focuses her practice at Harman Claytor on auto liability defense and premises liability matters.

1. Where are you from originally? — Alexandria, Virginia.
2. Did you have any other professions before becoming an attorney? — Not unless you count my summer jobs in a florist and a bank.
3. What is at the top of your bucket list? — Cruise to Antarctica complete with a polar plunge.
4. What’s something surprising/fun that not many people know about you? — I have been swimming with sharks without a cage.
5. When have you felt the proudest and why? — Watching my children turn into successful adults because when they were in high school I was not sure it was going to happen.
6. You’re happiest when… — I am with either of my children.
7. Do you have any pets? — We have four dogs and two cats. We also have a “bonus” cat for the next few months which belongs to our daughter.
8. What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on and why? — My husband will not like this answer because he was not invited, but my best trip was with our daughter to Italy and Greece about five years ago. It was definitely a bucket list trip and it provided great “mother-daughter” time.
9. If you could attend any concert, who would it be? — REM has always been my favorite band. I would love for them to get back together. I saw them in smaller venues as a teenager before they were popular.
10. What TV show/movie are you ashamed to admit you love? — Definitely my guilty pleasure… I love trashy reality TV. Married at First Sight, Love is Blind, Big Brother, 90 Day Fiancée, to name a few.
11. What would your perfect weekend look like? — Sitting by a fireplace reading a good book or watching college sports on TV.
12. What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn? — I wish I could play a musical instrument well. I took piano lessons as a child but it never really stuck.
