Ken began practicing law in 1986 as a JAG attorney in the U.S. Army. He returned to Richmond from Ft. Knox, Kentucky in 1990, joining Sands, Anderson, Marks & Miller. In 1991, he moved on as an original member and eventual partner of Schaffer and Cabell, where, over the next 14 years, he tried over 300 jury trials to verdict primarily involving automobile, premises and property matters. In 2005, he joined CNA Insurance Company’s Richmond staff counsel office where he practiced in the fields of commercial litigation, automobile, premises and property liability, as well as professionals’ liability with a focus on dental malpractice.  He regularly appeared before Virginia Department of Health regulatory boards on behalf of health care professionals. He has also appeared as a guest lecturer before dental professional groups on topics involving risk management. Ken came to Harman Claytor in April of 2019 where he concentrates his practice on automobile and premise defense, medical and dental malpractice and commercial litigation.
